Three Little Celebrations is a complete performance pack comprising of a delightful book and double CD containing three seasonal mini-musicals (themed for Spring, Summer and Autumn) for storyteller and young children.
The book contains scripts, five-week programmes of activities and melody lines for the songs. The CDs contain sung performances and backing tracks to sing along with, incidental music to use in your performance and performances of the mini-musicals, complete with stories, songs and incidental music (no music reading required!).
The A & C Black mini-musical is a short, flexible musical for storyteller and very young children (3-5 year olds). At its simplest level, it can be performed spontaneously in a storytime setting. The storyteller (a teacher, teaching assistant, nursery practitioner or other adult) narrates the story and guides the children by cueing the songs, dance, movement, mime and sound effects.
The three mini-musicals in this collection approach seasonal celebrations in different ways. In Tickle-me-prickles, Little Hedgehog discovers the magic of spring. In The Toys' Summer Picnic, the toys go on an adventure of their own whilst Molly is at the seaside. Finally, in Looking for Jemima, during a game of hide and seek four children learn about how different animals spend the autumn months.
The songs in this pack are catchy and easy to learn: some consist of new words to well-known tunes and some are simple original songs.
