Resurrection Rock! is immensely popular in schools and churches, as it tells the Easter story in bible readings, with seven lovely songs between. Although written for KS2+ ages, it can actually be performed by all ages, from KS1 up to teenagers and whole families. This makes it a wonderfully adaptable and effective resource for assemblies and Easter services.

Owing to the story unfolding through bible readings, Resurrection Rock! can be adapted for any sized cast and either read simply or enacted. The songs cover a rich variety of musical styles, from the upbeat 'Singing Hosanna to the Lord!' to the gentle 'This is my Body', from Peter's rocking 'I'm not the man!' to the gospel-style anthem 'Oh, sweet Jesus'. The song 'Crucify him!' includes simple two-part singing, as does the triumphant finale. There won't be a dry eye in the audience!

When adding drama, the crucifixion of Jesus is not enacted as this could cause distress and staging difficulties. In the final song, Resurrection Rock!, there is much rejoicing after Jesus’ return.

The Teacher's book contains the score for the songs in piano and voice format, with lyrics and guitar chord symbols, along with the bible references. Also included with the Teacher’s book is an accompanying CD which contains all the demonstration and backing tracks to rehearse and perform this terrific classroom musical by Sheila Wilson.

A separate Pupil's Word Booklet is also available which contains the lyrics to all of the songs along with the bible references.
