Caesar Augustus - he speaks not a word, but looks grand overseeing the census count-up
Gabriel - just two lines, totalling eight words, plus wing-wearing ability
Shiny the Star - no solo lines, just a sparkling costume and a little song and dance
Melchior - all the first king has to do is walk on carrying a gift and say his name
Caspar - copies Melchior (but hopefully announces himself as Caspar)
Balthazar - who will have watched the other two and should be OK!
Mary - she has no lines to say, but a vital baby-holding role to play
Joseph - he's the strong, silent type but he joins in with Away In A Manger
Mum - Shepherd Little's loyal Mum has important lines of support for her boy
Dad - no solo lines for this shepherd, long-suffering father of Shepherd Little
Shepherd Little - needs to be able to speak, shout, sing, fib, argue, sulk, boss and grin
Sergeant Major - leader of the Centurions who shouts 'Stand up!' and 'Hail Caesar!'
